ABOUT ME.
Hi! I'm Charlie, a Sound Recordist, Mixer and AS, with 15 years experience in the broadcast industry. I started my career assisting in outside broadcast and live music recording trucks (40+ UK & European tours and productions), learning from some highly experienced engineers, and later transitioning into location and studio sound for TV, Film, Commercial and Corporate video (500+ productions). I provide a full complement of the very latest sound mixing and recording equipment, with on-set workflow suitable for any production, and I'm a full member of the Institute of Professional Sound.
I've worked on Feature length drama, Documentaries, AAA Video Games, Reality TV, Panel Shows, Commercials, Podcasts and Corporate video at all levels. My work has been broadcast on the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky, MTV, XFM, London Live as well as the likes of Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, Twitch.tv and TikTok. I've also helped to deliver numerous commercial campaigns and corporate communication productions for some of the biggest companies in the world.
MORE THAN LOCATION SOUND.
I also offer post-production services from my own small studio (and occasionally on location too). Dialogue edits, re-recording mixes and music mixing and mastering. One of my more unusual skill sets is extensive experience in mixing live music recordings for home listening. I also do a lot of audio restoration and analysis; things like restoring damaged vinyl and tape recordings or just fixing bad digital recordings, all using the latest high end hardware and software processors.
I've worked on post for films at a range of scales; but my main pool of work so far has been documentary, short form drama and commercials, providing dialogue processing, sound design and final mix. For info on my post work hit the Post Studio button below.
With toes dipped into both worlds I'm happy to provide pre-production consultation on all aspects of the audio for any project from capture to delivery, including guidance on the acoustics of locations and studio spaces based on findings from location recces.
